The Modern Medicine website has been delayed due to much needed work in the completion of weather and climate research. Recently, the work seems to be coming together and is now able to make some highly educated input into the forecasting and analysis of severe weather invents. This includes hurricanes and tornados. With the recent increase in activity in the last few days and weeks of tropical disturbances in the Atlantic and Pacific regions, it is now appropriate to publish some findings in regard to the most pressing tropical system that could affect the gulf region.
Parameters that are used to analyze hurricane intensity could make a dramatic change in the next few hours to make it possible for tropical depression 9 to rapidly intensify today and over night. With landfall being a few days away, it is critical therefore that the National Hurricane Center pays close attention to the real possibility of this storm making changes such that it could become a major storm or hurricane. If all factors remain in place this storm could rival other powerful systems that have hit the gulf coast. Admittedly, this is my first forecast and compilation of data involved in hurricanes and tropical storms, yet the warmth of the gulf waters along with the appropriate meteorological conditions this storm could be more significant than is currently forecast.
If my data is correct, this storm should begin the intensification phase in earnest just after 2100 hours UTC or about 4 to 6pm local time. If my data proves correct, it will then be necessary to try and forecast the area of potential landfall using current tracking methods recently implemented in my research. Again, I am new in the forecasting of hurricanes but have had some success in the forecasting of non tropical events recently.
The Gulf, Atlantic and even the Pacific are currently buzzing with storms popping up daily. We seem to be in the midst of a major resurgence in tropical and even non tropical weather events. For those interested in our research and helping to fund our continued work we are asking for any assistance possible.
Hopefully, my data is off and all will be fine. If not however, please make preparations and take all necessary precautions regarding the current surge in tropical activity. If I am able to forecast a location for land fall, I will be posting this when it is made available.
